Pet Tracking Stories
Tracker's Pet Traxx customers have their hands full
taking care of and keeping track of their wandering four
legged friends. Here is a report from Tracker customer, Mike
Brown from Concord, California.
Keeping Track of Fifteen Cats - And Staying Sane Fifteen cats can be a handful. Just ask Tracker customer Mike Brown who through adopting some cats, and being adopted by others, collected his big furry, four legged family. Mike is all too familiar with the nerve-wracking experience of letting a cat, who is still getting used to its new home, out to roam has found a way to eliminate the worry of tracking down his fifteen wayward friends. Mike explains:
"I use the Tracker Cat Traxx for cats who are learning where their new home is, and for some of our cats who, for various reasons, tend to wander off. Putting the tracking collar on when the cats go out has become a matter of routine. It’s fast, and reduces the worry when the cats are outside being cats."
One such wandering cat is one of Mike’s new additions, Mikey, a kitten who was carried around by a homeless woman and never developed an understanding of “turf”. Once settled into his new home, Mike allowed Mikey out and noticed that he began leaving for longer and longer periods of time:
"Mikey usually hikes over to an undeveloped piece of land several blocks away - it’s his private jungle. Thanks to the Cat Traxx collar we can jump in the car, track him down and get him home safely. Now we call him ‘Mikey The Radio Ranger,’ or ‘Radar’ for short."
Another concern for Mike is Mimi, a kind of a Nervous-Nelly who sometimes gets chased by one of the other family cats and takes it too seriously. Whenever Mike lets Mimi out of the house he puts her Tracker collar on just in case. Sure enough, just last week she disappeared:
"I had to crank up my Cat Traxx receiver into the red zone, but amidst all the noise there was one steady blink that pointed me in the right direction! I followed Mimi’s gradually strengthening signal all the way back to her old birthplace several blocks away, and found her hiding in the house’s crawl space."
I’m still amazed that her tiny transmitter was able to broadcast all that distance, from being right on the dirt, through the concrete foundation, houses and trees, and then all the way back to my yard.
"Needless to say, I have no regrets about buying the Cat Traxx system. In fact, I own two systems. It’s a good investment for anyone who loves his or her cat and the price is a lot less painful than the grief of losing a loved pet. Factor in vet bills for a cat that stays away for days and gets hurt and the system pays for itself."
