Search & Rescue
Applications
Mountain Recovery
When leading a mountain expedition with Boy Scout troops or a weekend trip with friends, take measures to ensure that everyone safely returns. The Tracker Saver is a small, lightweight transmitter constantly emitting a strong radio signal. If a person becomes lost, or doesn’t make it back to a meeting point at an agreed upon time, Search and Rescue personnel with a Tracker receiver can search for that person by honing in on the one specific frequency assigned to that individual and locate the missing person.
By carrying a small, lightweight transmitter in an inconspicuous belt, outdoor enthusiasts can broadcast a radio frequency signal that can be detected by a receiver programmed for that frequency. Receivers are easy to use and lightweight making them easy to carry, and use, in unforgiving terrain and weather conditions. Using telemetry tracking skills rescue personnel can pinpoint the exact location of a person lost in the wilderness.
Tracking Search and Rescue Dogs
When using Search and Rescue Dogs in the wilderness or working them extensively off leash, it is important to be able to locate your dog and get to it as quickly as possible. Small transmitters are fixed to the dog collar and emit a powerful signal so you can locate your dog quickly.
Search and Rescue dogs have a variety of ways to notify the handler that it has found the missing person, by sitting with the person or barking. Tracker collars can notify the handler when the dog has stopped moving or when it is barking.
